Configuring user ranks

CjForum has built-in ranks system to rank users based on their contribution. Ranking is an important part of community building as it will allow your users to contribute more to achieve new ranks over time.

Types of Ranks

1. Standard
2. Special

Standard Ranks

These are the ranks which are automatically assigned based on number of posts the user created. You can set minimum number of posts after which the rank can be assigned automatically to the user.

CjForum - CjForum plugin must be enabled to get the ranks automatically assigned.

1. Go to Components -> CjForum -> Ranks page
2. Click New button to start creating new rank
3. Enter title of the rank and optional description.
4. Enter “Minimum Posts” in the provided field
5. Select either “Rank Image” or “Rank Class” to customize the rank display
6. Click Save and Close button

Special Ranks

These are the ranks which needs to be assigned manually. For example administrator, spammer, moderator etc.

1. Go to Components -> CjForum -> Ranks page
2. Click New button to start creating new rank
3. Enter title of the rank and optional description.
4. Enter “Minimum Posts” value as 0 in the provided field
5. Select either “Rank Image” or “Rank Class” to customize the rank display
6. Click Save and Close button
